The Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships, which start at the end of June, have inspired many a child to take up the game of tennis. But like all sports, tuition and lots of practice help in improving your game and there is no better way to do that than to attend an intensive tennis summer camp. Here, students are given top-class tuition on basic skills as well as strategies and technique, and any faults that may have developed can be corrected.
Camp Beaumont runs two tennis residential camps on the Norfolk Coast at Overstrand Hall for juveniles 15 to 17-year-olds, and at Pinewood Sands for those 7 to 17 years old. During the week, students receive 17.5 hours of coaching from a Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) accredited coach in small groups of similar age and ability on all weather courts. At the end of the week, the students take part in tennis tournaments. The camps run from mid-July till the end of August and, as of 2010, cost around £550 for the week or U.S. £536.
