Croydon Council provides services to people living in, businesses operating within, or people visiting the London Borough of Croydon. These services range from assistance to adults or families, housing help, city planning, cultural/sports activities or other types of beneficial services. The council itself is three bodies: the Executive, Scrutiny and Committees. Grants given out by the Croydon Council vary by type, but they still will coordinate with the types of services the council provides.

Private Tenants Grants

Private Tenants Grants are for disabled people or for those with reduced incomes. The Disabled Facilities grant goes to people with disabilities so they can live comfortably within an existing home. These grants can go toward remodelling entranceways, stairs, walkways, bathrooms and the like. The Energy Grants are for individuals to make their homes more energy efficient, and this money can go toward insulating doors or windows, installing a new radiator or updating a furnace. For some of these grants, individuals must already be receiving state benefits.

Croydon Music Service

Administering the Instrument Provision grant is the Croydon Music Service, which is under the Croydon Council Education Department. This group helps students to buy instruments through the Assisted Purchase Scheme, obtain vocal tuition, join with musical groups and perform in front of an audience. The Croydon Music Service also provides grants to schools so they may create an arts curriculum or expand current arts activities.
