A home bar is not just somewhere to mix drinks, it's a social gathering place. Displaying your liquor bottles in a creative manner will add an ambience to your home bar. It will also make it easier to find specific bottles of liquor when your friends ask you to make a drink that you have never heard of before.

By Size

If you don't have shelves or the space to use them to elevate your bottles of liquor, display the bottles by size. Put the shortest bottles in the front, then the medium sized ones behind them and then the tall ones in the back. This will make it easier for both you and your guests to see what liquors your bar is stocked with.

Use Boxes

Don't throw the boxes away when you purchase your liquor. They can be used to add an artistic touch to your bar. If the box is visually appealing, package the liquor inside the box. If the box includes additional packages, such as the blue bag for Crown Royal, display the bottle in the bag to set it apart and make it distinguishable. Even if the box is not artistic, it can be used to place the liquor bottle on top of, adding height to your bar display and making bottles easier to see.

If you want to find the liquors you have at your bar quickly, they will need to be organised. Put them in order alphabetically. This will help your guests determine which of their favourite liquors are available at your bar. It will also make it easier for you to find the liquor or mixers you need to prepare your drinks.

By Type

Display your liquors by type. Organise it so the tequilas are all together, the rums are together and the whiskeys are together, for example. This will allow you and your guests to determine what liquors are available, as well as to compare the different options for each type of liquor before choosing one.

Look for unique bottles when shopping for liquor. During the winter holiday season you might find some in the shape of a Christmas tree or tree ornament. During sports seasons, some liquor companies produce bottles in shapes of sports balls or logos for sports teams. These will add a unique touch to your bar. You could add some light buy purchasing a lighted shelf to place on your bar. The shelf can then project light through the bottom of the bottles.
