If you love taking pictures of nature, objects or people, then you may be interested in becoming a photographer. A photographer's main job is to take a picture that tells a story. They may take portrait photos, landscape photos or animal photos. Not only do you need creativity and a good eye, but you should have a technical understanding of photography. You can get trained through a degree or apprentice training program.
Mark Robert Halper Photography Internship / Apprenticeship Program
There is an option for students to take a weekday or a weekend apprenticeship program. The weekday program will last Monday through Friday, and the weekend only runs on Saturday and Sunday. The weekday program will take one year to complete, and is a paid position. The weekend program is also paid, but will take longer to complete. Students will either work as part of a small or large photo shoot. In small photo shoots, they may work directly with the photography. In large photo shoots, they will work with a crew. They will also be required to help around the studio. Mark Roberts will be there to guide you, give you assignments and to critique your work.

Brody Dezember Photography Internship/Apprenticeship Program
Students will assist on photo shoots and learn about professional wedding photography. This apprenticeship program is geared towards those who want to run their own business and learn how to run a studio. Students will learn from Brody and his staff. Students will have a chance to assist photographers in wedding photo shoots. There is a weekday and complete internship/apprenticeship program. The weekday program runs from Tuesday through Thursday and the complete program runs from Tuesday through Saturday. The weekday program will take three months to complete, but is not a paid position. Students will have to pay £975 in order to take the complete program.

Ed Carreon Photography Internship
Students will have the chance to take a three month internship in either Los Angeles or Orange County. He will choose those from local schools including the Brooks School of Photography, Cal State Long Beach, Santa Monica City College, Pasadena City College and Cal State Northridge. Students must show a desire to work and a commitment to the photography profession. Students will assist Ed Carreon on an editorial photo assignment by downloading pictures, carrying and setting up lighting equipment and setting up a soft-box. This is not a paid opportunity.
