If you enjoy meeting different kinds of people, being productive and working in the fast-paced tourism and travel industries, you might think about attending one of the nation's top 10 hospitality management colleges. While the hospitality industry does not require every manager to have a degree---experience is usually the best item to have on a resume---you can gain valuable insight about what it takes to be successful in the field.

University of Denver

The Daniels College of Business, part of the University of Denver, is ranked by Education Portal as the top hospitality management college in the United States. The school was established in 1946, but recently erected a state-of-the-art hospitality building that provides students with hands-on experience in the industry. The building has a 2,800-square-foot kitchen, a beverage management centre that's decorated like a Tuscan wine cellar, a front desk operations lab and a dining hall that seats 170 people comfortably. The School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management is one of the few collegiate hospitality programs that's part of a college of business, and the school's job placement resources help students find jobs upon graduation.

These numbers make UCF an ideal spot for a hospitality management education. According to Education Portal, UCF is ranked second among the top hospitality management colleges in the United States. The university offers bachelor's degree programs in hospitality management, event management and restaurant and food service management.

Oklahoma State University

The School of Hotel and Restaurant Administration, at Oklahoma State University (OSU), is ranked third amongst all hospitality management colleges in the United States by Education Portal. The university offers several undergraduate and graduate degree programs in hospitality administration, along with a hospitality study abroad program in Switzerland. It also owns several restaurants, and a hotel that's operated solely by students as part of their training and coursework. Before graduation, hospitality students at OSU complete more than 800 hours of field work; this includes internships and on-site work at the school's hotel and restaurants. Students also receive job placement opportunities through the yearly career fair hosted by the university, during which more than 35 hospitality companies from across the country attend.
