What causes open pores?
The biggest reason for open pores is genetics (face to face image by Melanie von Snarly from Fotolia.com)

Whether you are a teenager or middle-aged, your face can develop open pores. While some may believe these are unsightly, especially when viewed in a magnifying mirror, the truth is that everyone has pores that are open to some extent.

The main cause of open pores is simple genetics. If open pores are in your genes, no procedure nor cleanser will ever bring lasting change. Many products are available, and home remedies abound, but they are only temporary fixes.

Oily Skin

Insufficient face washing caues open pores, leading to oily skin containing some dirt. The facial pores then open to allow the oil and the dirt inside.

It is repeatedly squeezing blackheads and other forms of acne on your face that causes open pores. In most cases, occasional blackhead squeezing does not cause open pores.
