With a little imagination and some materials you may already have around the house, you can create a caveman couple costume that is bound to turn heads. Creating this costume does not require you to be neat—cavemen were rustic, and there was no such thing as a neatly trimmed outfit or perfectly manicured hair.

Head Hair

Duplicate caveman-era hair by using wigs. A dark-coloured wig of long hair can be used for the woman's costume, but first tease it and knot it up a bit. For the male, a shoulder-length, dark-coloured wig can be used, and it should be teased and knotted up as well. Use hairspray on the wigs before putting them on to keep the hair in place.

Body Hair

Cut up wigs to make body hair. For the man's costume, cut up pieces of a medium-length black wig and use hot glue to glue the pieces onto a flesh-toned leotard to mimic the body hair. Also glue pieces of the wig over a shirt if one is being used with the leotard. For the woman's costume, glue pieces of the wig under the arms of the flesh-toned leotard.

Facial Hair

Cut pieces of a short black or dark-brown wig to create bushy eyebrows and facial hair. The pieces of the wig can be safely glued on the face using a liquid adhesive bandage product that is sold in drugstores. The woman's costume would only need eyebrows while the man's costume would need eyebrows, a moustache and a beard.

Instead of using hair from a wig to create eyebrows, you can use an eyebrow pencil to make thick, dark eyebrows.

Use fake animal-skin throw blankets as a draped covering for your costumes. For a larger caveman or women, a leopard flat sheet will also work. Tie two ends together over one shoulder and let the rest drape around the body, similar to a toga.

Make caveman sandals out of a pair of dark flip flops, and tie two long pieces of ribbon on the sides of each sandal. Cris cross the ribbon pieces up your calf and tie them together under your knee.

Make a caveman club with papier-mache. Use a child-sized, plastic baseball bat or an empty wrapping paper roll as the foundation for the club. Wrap strips of newspaper that have been dipped in a papier-mache liquid all around the tube or bat. Continue doing this until it resembles a caveman's club. Once it's dry, paint it brown to resemble a wooden club.
