Whether you're celebrating a birthday or just want a small dessert, cupcakes are a sweet alternative to a large cake. Bakeries specialising in cupcakes cater to everyone's sweet tooth, but it's easy to make your own at home. Experiment with different flavours and types of icing to create gourmet cupcakes at a fraction of the price that high-end bakeries charge. The key to baking consistently perfect cupcakes is correctly filling the liners so that your cupcakes rise, but don't spill over the baking tray.
