Giving presents to a guy can be quite difficult for girls. It gets even more challenging when your boyfriend happens to be a soldier---particularly one assigned in the field. Here are a few ideas to get you started in your hunt for the perfect present your soldier boyfriend will truly appreciate.

Give your soldier boyfriend a scrapbook that contains photos of your life together. This makes it easier for him to share these special moments and remember them even when you're not physically together. Add quotes or captions to each photo to remind him of the things you have done together, or leave a note that says you can't wait to show him photos you've taken in his absence.

As an alternative, get him a digital photo frame. This allows you to save a lot of pictures on one device; you can add as many photos as possible of you as well as his family. Many digital photo frames are powered by AA batteries, so your boyfriend will not have a difficult time using one while he's away.

Portable Tech Devices

Help your boyfriend while away the time while on duty with an e-book reader. If your man loves to read, preload an e-book reader with his favourite books or magazines. E-book readers are lightweight, so your boyfriend can take one everywhere.

Soldiers who are into music would likely greatly appreciate a portable music and video player, such as an iPod Touch. Save photos or favourite video footage on the device so your boyfriend can revisit memories of the time you've spent together.

Homemade Goodies

Your on-duty boyfriend is spending a long time away from the comforts of home. Bring a smile to his face while he's on duty with a care basket from home. Don't load the basket with a lot of chocolates; your man might not have the luxury of a spacious fridge to keep them from melting while in the field. Go for candies or local goodies that are easy to store.

Opt to make him something from scratch if you know your way around the kitchen, or just fill up the care basket with all sorts of junk food that your boyfriend enjoys munching on.
