An anniversary is a milestone, whether it's for a couple or a business. Celebrating these anniversary milestones lets everyone involved know that they were an important part of the business's continued success. The celebration can include both employees and clients or customers of the business as both parties are key participants to keeping a business alive and thriving. You can celebrate the anniversary with parties, dinners and mementos.

Office Party

One classic way to celebrate your business' anniversary is with an office party. This allows employees on all levels to mingle and interact as just people and friends over cake, snacks and drinks. Although typically office parties are just for employees, there's no reason you cannot invite clients and customers. On the day of the party, close the office early and start the party before the traditional end of the workday. This ensures that those who cannot stay after work due to other commitments can enjoy some of the celebration. Then let the party last beyond the day's usual hours for those inclined to stay. If serving alcoholic beverages, be sure there is also some real food, like sandwiches. If necessary, have a drive-home policy for any who party too hard.

Dinner Plans

Celebrate over dinner. Many restaurants have special dining areas that can be reserved for large parties and set up with the tables arranged in a large U or square shape. Rent one of these places and offer your valued employees a nice dinner out. Also, invite important customers and clients to mingle socially with your staff. For these types of dinners, a limited menu is often used by the restaurant to ensure that the meals can be delivered in a timely fashion. Arrange for the dinner party to be on a weekend night, or a night in which no one worked during the day. This makes it easier for people to attend, as they won't have to go home from work then turn around and head out for dinner. Alternatively, you can arrange the dinner on a working day, if you let the employees leave early so they can tend to any home business first. As well, consider inviting the spouses of your employees to the dinner. In all instances, during the planning stage, be sure to have everyone R.S.V.P. so you can give the restaurant an accurate headcount.

A low-key celebration is to commemorate the anniversary with little mementos. This is more likely done for special anniversaries, like a 5- or 10-year anniversary. Many companies can produce a variety of trinkets and useful things like pens and pencils with your company's name and anniversary message printed on them. You could hand out whimsical items such as yellow rubber duckies with your company's logo on them or give your employees and valued customers something they might use like a paperweight with the anniversary information on it. Use your imagination and browse the many promotional items available when deciding.
