Wall murals can bring colour, dimension and creativity to an outdoor space. Painting a wall mural is not as difficult as it looks, even if you are not artistically inclined. A projector helps to display the image onto the wall; then you can trace it and fill it in with colour.

Country Meadow

Enjoy springtime year round with a country meadow outdoor wall mural. Pastoral green meets bright blue at the horizon, with colourful bouquets of flowers dotting the landscape. Feature a large tree with rambling branches and a walkway tapering into the distance. Paint a swing dangling from one large branch, covered with flowering vines on both sides. A picket fence, horses, a wishing well and an old barn could all be features of the country meadow wall mural.

Old-World Courtyard

Paint an outdoor wall mural to resemble an old world courtyard with cobblestone pavers, wrought iron cafe tables and potted plants. An ivy-covered trellis could lead out of the courtyard to a pathway that recedes into the distance. Include a lazy cat stretched over the sun-dappled cobblestone and a garden bench that beckons you to relax. A rustic brick wall on one side of the courtyard could be filled with paned windows and wrought iron window boxes overflowing with colourful flowers.

Mountain Range

A snow capped mountain range is a compelling background for an outdoor wall mural. Include a chalet, perched on a hillside, and fields of wildflowers in the foreground. Smoke trickles from the chimney and a porch filled with rocking chairs invites you to enjoy the view. A rickety wooden fence disappears into the distance with horses grazing on one side.

Tropical Waterfall

Lush tropical foliage extends from both sides of an overflowing waterfall in the centre of an outdoor wall mural. Flowering vines, tropical birds and monkeys flying from limb to limb are a few of the features you can include. Depict the waterfall from top to bottom, with accompanying rainbows dancing above the water. Layer squirrels, panthers and other wildlife among the dense green foliage. Look for rainforest images that you can project onto your outdoor wall.
