You work in a fun-loving school that works hard to make education more enjoyable. Or you attend a spirited school that is celebrating homecoming week. Whatever the reason, your school has implemented Wacky Wednesday, and your class needs a theme. A theme will give some guidelines for participating in this festive day without letting activities or dress get too crazy.

Crazy Socks

Celebrate Wacky Wednesday by the wearing of some crazy socks. Suggest that students striped or patterned socks instead of the standard uniform or school socks. Take lots of pictures of your students donning their brightly coloured, goofy-looking socks.

Funny Hat Day

Implement Wacky Wednesday with a funny hat day. Kids could wear beanie caps, jester hats or hats with wigs attached. You could give a prize to the student who wears the funniest hat of the day. Consider allowing baseball hats with humorous sayings.

Wild West

Celebrate Wacky Wednesday by wearing of Wild West gear. Kids could dress up as cowboys, wearing cowboy hats, boots and cowboy shirts. Of course, do not allow pretend guns. Teachers could participate in Wild West days by wearing jeans, boots and a cowboy style button-down shirt.

Polka Dot

Decorate the halls with dozens of polka dots. Let kids dress up in polka dot gear. An easy way to get a polka dot look is by sticking dozens of coloured circular stickers all over your child. Have students wear polka dotted dresses, shirts and trousers. Teachers could carry a polka dotted purse and wear polka dotted socks. For homecoming week, students could make posters using polka dotted messages.

Crazy T-shirt

Wacky Wednesday is a good day to allow students to wear funny T-shirts. Crazy T-shirts could be tie dyed, colourful and have humorous messages on them. Give some guidelines before hand to be sure no one wears anything offensive.

'50s Day

One Wacky Wednesday could be done '50s style. Play some fifties music in the background as students enter and exit the building. Guys and girls could wear fifties' style clothing like Poodle Skirts, Greaser jackets and T-shirts. Saddle shoes and ponytails could be worn too.

Team Spirit

Teachers or students could show their team spirit on Wacky Wednesday. On this day, students can wear clothing that shows everyone who their favourite sports team is. Wear football jerseys, bowl shirts and team hats. Before the big homecoming game, students could wear clothing that supports the school's football or baseball team.
