The smooth texture and perfect cut of the wood of Popsicle sticks make them a useful component in crafts for both kids and adults. You can buy packages of Popsicle sticks almost anywhere crafting items are sold, or you can save your own at home from actual Popsicles. To make things with the sticks, all you really need is some good craft glue and a great imagination.

Popsicle Stick Door Sign

This is a very easy craft to do with Popsicle sticks. After you have them glued together, you can add a yarn or ribbon to hang them with and then decorate to your liking. Just glue Popsicles side by side, however many you choose depending on what size sign you want and then glue one the opposite way across both the top and bottom, for sturdiness. Hang your sign on a door or wall. You can write or paint a name on the sign, as well as "Keep Out" or "Welcome." You can even make the sign into a piece of art by painting a picture on it.

Popsicle Stick Boxes

Glue your Popsicle sticks together to form nifty boxes where you can hide jewellery, money or anything else that your imagination can dream up. Paint and decorate the boxes for different occasions. One could be green with a four-leaf clover for St. Patrick's Day; another could be red with some garland around the edges for Christmas.

Popsicle Stick Picture Frame

You need only about 8 Popsicle sticks for this one. Glue 2 sticks together, side by side, until you have the 4 sides for your frame. Then glue these together, in the shape of a frame, overlapping the corners for stability. Paint it or decorate it however you want. If you are putting a person's photo in it, you can paint his name on the frame. Glue the picture into the frame and then add a string for hanging, or glue on a magnet and put your masterpiece on the refrigerator.
