If you're not quite sure what to do with your old pantyhose, add them to your craft supply box. Nylons and pantyhose can be stuffed, twisted and stretched into countless shapes and sculptures. They are easy for kids to manipulate, and fun to create with. With a bit of imagination and a few other craft supplies, you can create countless projects with pantyhose.

Animal Crafts

You can use your old pantyhose and nylons to create cute stuffed animals for kids. The finished product will look similar to twisted balloon art, but will be much more soft and cuddly. Stuff the pantyhose with fibre-fill or cotton until you have a flexible, yet firm, product. You may choose to cut the hose and tie the end tightly with a knot. Simply twist the hose into a shape similar to a balloon animal. Use googly eyes, felt scraps, markers, glue and other craft materials to decorate your stuffed animal.

Doll Faces

Use pantyhose to create a soft doll for a baby or toddler. Cut off the foot end of the pantyhose and stuff tightly with fibre-fill or cotton. Tie a tight knot at the end of the hose and manipulate the stuffed shape until it resembles a ball or a face. Decorate the ball to resemble a baby face using fabric or acrylic paints. You can place a small bonnet on the doll's head, or even attach hair using a hot glue gun. You can use the rest of the hose to fashion a body for the doll. Use fabric scraps to create clothes for the doll or wrap it in a small receiving blanket.

Stick Puppets

You can use several different colours of pantyhose to create a diverse group of stick puppets. Cut small sections of pantyhose and stuff them with fibre-fill or cotton. Twist the ends and tie with a tight knot. Use a straw or a Popsicle stick for the body of the puppet. Attach the small pantyhose head you have created to the puppet body using tape or a hot glue gun. Decorate the puppet's face using fabric paint or permanent markers. Create clothing for your stick puppets with fabric scraps, glue and pipe cleaners. Add embellishments such as hair, glitter, sequins or rhinestones.

Crinkly Snake

This project creates a perfect toy for infants and toddlers. Stuff one leg of an old pair of pantyhose with newspaper. You may need to rip the newspaper into shreds in order for the snake to take on a realistic shape. Tie the end of the hose with a tight knot. Decorate the face of your snake with paint. If the snake is not a toy for infants or toddlers, you may use googly eyes and felt for a snake tongue. Because of the newspaper filling, the snake will make a pleasing noise when handled and is the perfect size and weight for infants and toddlers to grab or pick up.
