The arid location allows for only 9.5 inches in rainfall per year. Right on the Rio Grande, on the border of New Mexico and just across from Chihuahua, Mexico, El Paso is the home of University of Texas at El Paso and the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, as well as multiple museums and theatres.
