UV Vodka (uvvodka.com) is a brand of alcoholic beverages produced by the Phillips Distilling Company, which is headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota. UV Vodka prides itself as a premium producer of vodka and vodka-infused beverages that are created through an extensive distilling process. As of 2011, UV Vodka produces three different types of products: straight vodkas, flavoured vodkas, and flavoured, ready to drink cocktails.

Distillation and Formulation Process

UV distils its product four times in order to produce a premium quality vodka. In this process, UV boils fermented liquid from American grown No. 2 yellow corn and extracts the vaporised alcohol that the boiling yields. UV next mixes the distilled alcohol with purified water from Minnesota to create a balanced alcohol content. This alcohol and water mixture then undergoes 20 hours of carbon filtration in order to remove any remaining impurities. Once the carbon filtration process is complete, the vodka is ready for the flavour and bottling processes.

Classic Straight Vodkas

As of 2011, UV produces two types of straight, or unflavored, vodkas. The first type, called UV 80, is an 80 proof vodka that contains 40 per cent alcohol. This type of UV Vodka is considered the brand's primary and leading product and is marketed simply as "UV Vodka." The second type of straight vodka that UV produces is called UV 103 which is a 103 proof vodka that contains 51.5 per cent alcohol. According to the UV website, UV 103 should particularly be drank in moderation due to its higher alcohol content.

Flavoured Vodkas

As of 2011, UV also produces 12 flavoured vodkas in addition to its two types of straight vodka. Seven of these flavours are classic, such as cherry, grape, apple, citrus, raspberry, coconut and orange. These flavours range from 90 to 110 calories per serving and have an alcohol content of 30 to 35 per cent. The other five flavours that UV produces are speciality flavours such as cake, espresso, lemonade, vanilla and green tea. Each of these flavours has an alcohol content of 30 per cent.

Vodka Cocktails

UV also produces a line of ready to drink bottled cocktails using UV Vodka. As of 2011, there are 4 flavours: lemonade, blue raspberry lemonade, cherry lemonade and limeade. Each lemonade cocktail mixes flavoured UV Vodka with real lemonade. The limeade flavoured cocktail mixes real limeade with straight UV Vodka. The cocktails are ready to drink out of the bottle with no additional ingredients needed.
