Clocks help regulate the day. Clocks tell you what time it is so you can plan your day and arrive at your daily appointments on time, from getting to Bible school to lunch with a friend. Bible school clock crafts help point children to the creator of time and remind them to make time for God every day.

There Is a Season

Build the VBS clock craft around the passage from Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, which begins, "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven." (King James Version). Create a clock face from a paper plate, construction paper or cardstock. In a semicircle around the top edge of the clock have students add, "For Everything There is a Season." Cut out clock hands. Have students decorate their clocks, add numerals 1-12 and attach the hands with a brad to allow the hands to move. On the back, let older children write the Biblical passage with pens, markers or crayons. Provide younger children with a printout of the passage to glue on.

Time for God

Create a "Time for God" wall hanging. Start with a piece of felt, cardstock or regular copy paper, depending upon the type of hanging created. Head each hanging, "Making Time for God." At the bottom children include their names. Add clock hands made from cardstock with a brad fastener. Glue a thin dowel rod to the top of the back of the craft. Tie yarn to each end to hang. For a felt clock hanging, cut out clock faces from felt, add numbers with felt or markers and glue to the larger felt piece. Provide choices of colours. Create the clock on cardstock, decorating with markers or stickers with numbers. Design the clock on regular copy paper. Around the edges, use crayons on this Bible School clock craft to make a frame of alternative colours. Use only crayons for wording and decorations. Before adding the clock hands, soak cotton in baby oil and go over the paper until it has a thin coat of oil. Let dry. Add the clock hands, dowel rod and yarn. Hang in a window or near light for a look of stained glass.

Jesus Loves Me all The Time

Make this Bible school clock craft from paper, cardstock or cardboard. Head the craft project with the text, "Jesus Loves Me All The Time." Under the heading, have each child add a head photo. Situate the picture so clock hands will be attached below the face, not on it. Instead of numbers, in a star burst pattern from the centre, add text of different things children do, such as sleep, attend school, play, clean room, help dad. Include other situations the children wish to add, up to 12. Once they add the clock hands, the children can point the hands to different items to remind them Jesus loves them no matter what they're doing.

Jesus Hears Me

Create watches using foam sheets, cardstock wide ribbon or elastic. Cut clock faces and hands from cardstock. Add clock hands with a brad. Glue the face onto the watch backing . Glue on interlocking fabric fasteners so the children can put on and take off the watch, as well as adjust it to fit. Along the band print, "Jesus hears me all the time."
