When you first got your tattoo, you wanted to show it off. Times change, though. Whether you are looking to quickly hide your tattoo for a wedding or job interview, or wanting to permanently cover up your tattoo for an entirely different design, there are a few techniques you can use in order to effectively conceal your tattoo permanently or temporarily.

Sleeved Shirts

If your tattoo is printed where it can be easily concealed with clothing, such as your upper arm, wear a long-sleeved or three-quarter-sleeve shirt to entirely hide your tattoo. This is perhaps the easiest and quickest way of covering up a tattoo if you are short for time or simply don't want to bother with the hassle of make-up.

Cover Up with Concealer

If you are looking to completely hide your tattoo for a day because, for example, you want to show off your bare back in your new summer dress, cover your tattoo with make-up concealer. Have a friend help you with hard-to-reach areas.

Coat your tattoo with a light-coloured concealer and let it dry. Carefully use your finger or a gentle make-up brush to apply one to two layers of skin-coloured foundation over the dry concealer. Allow the foundation to dry. Follow up by coating the dry area with a bit of make-up powder, the same colour as your skin. This will temporarily hide your tattoo.

Purchase Tattoo Concealer

For another quick fix, you can purchase concealers made specially for covering up tattoos. Some products include Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer, a waterproof multipurpose concealer for hiding both tattoos and blemishes. Hide Ink Tattoo Covers is another option for concealing tattoo ink. This product is like a cover-up adhesive that blends with your skin colour.

Blend Tattoos

If you are wanting to permanently conceal a tattoo of your ex-girlfriend's name or are just tired of the tattoo you currently have, consider meshing your old tattoo with a new one. For instance, to hide your ex-girlfriend's name, blend it with a flowery tattoo art, skull and crossbones, Chinese symbols or other design.
