Surprise the 11-year old girl in your life with a homemade gift that suits her love for flowers, keepsakes or nature. Handcrafted presents often express more meaning than any plastic toy or other gift that you could buy in a store because a homemade gift displays one-of-a-kind features that make it more special. Craft her a present for her birthday, elementary school graduation or other holiday event.

Eleven Year Memory Albums or Scrapbooks

Make her a scrapbook that includes pictures from the first 11 years of her life. Choose a 12-by-12 or 8-by-8 album that features animals, candy or another theme that you think she might like. Create layouts with one large photo or three smaller photos along with embellishments that she loves such as Hello Kitty buttons, stickers, pink ribbon, pressed flowers and paper animals. If you know her well, find crafts or cards that she's made over the years and feature these in the book. Create a timeline from the time she was a baby until age 11. Leave a few pages at the back blank, so she can add to the book as she grows older. You can also just fill a decorative photo album full of pictures of her and decorate the cover with pressed flowers, buttons and other embellishments.

Homemade Jewelry and Keepsake Boxes

Make her a homemade keepsake or jewellery box. Use an old heart-shaped box that once held chocolates or buy a box at the craft store. Paint the box yellow, purple or green, depending on her favourite colour. Adorn the box with different embellishments such as fake jewels, heart charms or pressed flowers. Place a sticker displaying the number "11" on the bottom or inside of the box to symbolise this year in her life. She can fill the box with pictures, necklaces, small toys or other keepsakes of her choice.

Embellished Memory Poster Boards

Buy a large cork board with a pink or purple border and use a hot glue gun to adorn the border with items that your 11-year-old would love such as pony buttons, pom ruffles and animal charms. Hang up crafts, pictures, tickets and other memory keepsakes that showcase the first 11 years of her life. Hang up key chains and other items that you think she would enjoy. She can change or add to the board as she grows up.

Herbal Sachets

Make her an herbal sachet to place in her night stand or by her pillow. Buy fabric that matches her favourite colour such as purple or pink. You can also use flower patterned fabric or another design that you think she might enjoy. Sew a sachet pouch that is about 7 inches long and 7 inches wide. Sew a patch displaying the number "11" on the front or back of the sachet. Fill it with herbs such as lavender, rosemary and chamomile. A few drops of essential oil on the herbs can also enhance the scents. Sew the pouch closed, place this gift in a box or gift basket. Create one sachet or several with different scents.
