Woven neck lanyards used for ID tags are generally longer than regular sized necklaces. The ID tag holder lanyards hang about mid-chest length. In adults this would be about 22 to 25 inches, depending on a person's size. You would need about 5 yards of plastic lace to weave a lanyard this size. Neck lanyards for children can be about 12 to 15 inches depending on the size of the child. About 3 yards would be needed to weave a neck lanyard for a child.

Key chain lanyards are smaller versions of neck lanyards. They are about 4 or 5 inches in length. They much shorter projects to make with craft lace. You would need about 2 or 3 feet of plastic lace to weave a key chain to be 3 or 4 inches in length. Key chain lanyards are used for keys or small charms for children's projects. Key chain sized lanyards work well to add personal style to your key ring and make simple gifts. A woven key chain lanyard can also be longer if you wish by leaving the end strands long and adding beads with a knot at the ends to hold them on the strands.

Zipper Pulls

Zipper pull lanyards are a smaller version of the key chains. They are typically put on a small lanyard hook to attach to zippers on coats, purses or bags. Small zipper pulls work well for children's jackets. It helps them grip the zipper and make it easier to open or unzip their jackets themselves. About a foot of plastic lace is needed to make a 1-inch zipper pull. They are just big enough to grab with the thumb and pointer finger. Zipper pull lanyards also add nice accents to coats and jackets and can be made to match colours.

Necklaces and bracelets can be woven out of plastic lace to fit adults and children. Adult bracelets would need around 4 1/2 feet of plastic lace. Children's bracelets can be made with 3 1/2 feet of plastic lace. Necklaces would need around 3 yards for a child and about 5 yards for an adult.
