Gift baskets for a bride and groom allow guests to give a variety of gifts to the couple that can be creative, practical or luxurious. Buy a basket and fill it with items tailored to the theme of your gift basket and the personalities of the bride and groom.

Romance Gift Basket

For a romantic night after the stress of planning a wedding, fill a wicker basket with a romantic CD and a book of poetry. Include a negligee for the bride, along with aromatherapy candles and massage oil. Finish the basket with a bottle of the couple's favourite wine, a set of new wine glasses and a box a fine chocolates.

Pasta Gift Basket

Fill a pasta colander with dry pastas such as spaghetti, penne or shells, jars of Italian seasoning and other spices and herbs, jars of tomato sauce and mixes for pesto or Alfredo sauce. Include utensils such as a pasta fork, wooden spoon and a cheese grater, as well as an Italian cookbook. For an interesting additional touch, scatter dry pasta such as elbows among the gifts in the basket.

Breakfast in Bed

Line a serving tray with colourful napkins and fill the tray with homemade jam, gourmet coffee, hot chocolate mix and mugs so that the newlywed couple can enjoy breakfast in bed. Add some homemade muffins or scones prepared with seasonal fruit and pancake mix with maple syrup. Supplement it with sparkling cider, two champagne flutes and fresh flowers.

Honeymoon Basket

Fill a basket with a bottle of champagne and two champagne flutes wrapped in cloth napkins to keep them from cracking. Add snacks, such as cheese and crackers, dried fruit and chocolate. If the couple is travelling overseas, include maps, travel guides and a translation dictionary. Add some fun swimwear and flip-flops, along with some funky sunglasses, for a finishing touch if the couple plans to relax on a beach under some sun.

Gardening Basket

If the couple is moving into a home with a yard and they have expressed an interest in gardening or the bride or groom has a "green fingers," fill a pail with gardening essentials. Include gardening tools, pairs of gardening gloves and some seedlings for their first plants. Add some flowering plants as well as some pots to display in the garden to complete the gift.
