    Wooden wine rack projects

Wine lovers are always looking for new ways to rack and store their bottles. From small, individual collections in a kitchen or dining room to large, elaborate wine cellars, a wooden wine rack can hold wine bottles safely and in style. Woods can be stained to match existing furniture or left raw for a rustic look.

    Round Holes for Individual Bottles

You can create easy wooden wine racks as an extension of a new kitchen design or remodel. Wood planks can be cut with evenly spaced holes in flat wood stock and mounted under cabinets. The wood can be stained or finished with the same materials in your kitchen to give them a custom look and feel. You can create single row wine racks or stack them to hold more wine bottles.

    Criss-Cross Box Multi-Bottle Wine Rack

If you have a large number of wine bottles to store and you don't want to spend money and effort to build a wine rack with individual cubby holes for each bottle, a criss-cross box multi-bottle wine rack would be the perfect item for your wine collection. Build large, square wooden box frames for your wine rack base. Then add criss-cross wood pieces to divide each box into four individual triangle-shaped cubby holes to hold your favourite wines.

Vertical Neck Ring Holder Wine Rack

One of the quickest and easiest wooden wine racks to build is the vertical neck ring holder wine rack. It is a simple one-piece construction wine rack. Cut holes into a long plank of wood to accept the neck of each wine bottle for vertical storage and mount the plank to the wall with metal brackets from your local home improvement store. You can make a single vertical wine rack for a small, personal collection or make multiple, long, vertical wine racks to mount side-by-side for larger collections.

    Half Circle Bookcase-Style Wine Rack

Create a wooden wine rack style patterned after the common bookcase that looks like a piece of wooden furniture. You can build a basic tall rectangular structure with a strong base and top surface. Then mount multiple half circle wood planks in the front and back of the piece to hold individual bottles of wine. You can even adorn the sides of the structure with wrought iron or stained glass to make it decorative.
