School Bus

Bake two pound cakes and trim off a quarter of one. Place the full pound cake on the bottom and stack the trimmed piece on top to make a school bus shaped cake. Ice the cake with yellow icing and pipe on windows, headlights and other details. Pipe faces on wafer cookies to resemble children and place them in the windows of the bus. Place chocolate-covered mini doughnuts on the bottom of the bus to make the wheels.

Pencil

For a pencil-themed cake, bake a sheet cake and trim two angled pieces of the cake so that it comes to a point at one end. Ice a bit of the other end of the cake with pink icing to resemble an eraser. Ice the middle of the cake in yellow and ice the pointed bottom quarter of the cake in light brown. Pipe black icing at the tip of the cake so that it resembles the sharpened point of a pencil.

Note Paper

Easily transform a plain rectangle-shaped cake to resemble lined note paper. Ice the cake with white icing and pipe blue lines horizontally across it. Pipe a red line vertically down the cake toward the left edge, to look traditional note paper lines. Pipe a message to the students between the lines of the cake.

Crayons

Bake a two-layered round cake and ice it with frosting. Roll fondant in several colours into crayon shapes. Use an edible marker to write the word "crayon" on each piece. Make about 20 fondant crayons and place them vertically along the bottom of the cake so that the tips of the crayons are pointed toward the top of the cake.
