Guys have a tendency to send mixed signals to girls they like. Just think back to the boy at school who kept teasing you or punching your arm; he might have been crazy about you. While a man's flirting skills have probably matured since his adolescence, it is still difficult to tell if a guy wants to ask you out. If he really likes you though, then he will show it. You just need to know the signs.
If you want to know whether a guy is interested in asking you out, watch his behaviour around his friends when you are nearby. His behaviour will change once he notices you are there, and he will soon start to show off. He may get louder or start to joke around more, and his actions will be inflated to get your attention.
Making an Effort
If a guy is taking more care with his appearance when he is aware he will be around you, then take it as an indication that he is trying to impress you. Watch out for him wearing cologne or dressing up in situations he normally wouldn't, when he knew you would be there.
Eye contact is a good way to tell if he is interested in you, but that doesn't mean staring deep into your eyes. If you turn around and find him staring at you, only for him to quickly avert his gaze once he realises you are staring back, then you know he likes you. Also, if you find a man standing up straight when you talk to him or you are in his vicinity, he may be trying to impress you. A guy may also get nervous talking to a girl he wants to ask out, so watch for signs of a usually assured man becoming flustered around you. These signs include his Adam's apple shifting up and down because he is nervous.
Texts and Phone Calls
A guy who likes you will look for excuses to text or call you, so try and decipher between a genuine inquiry and a pretext. For example, if he asked you about something that happened at work, and you are certain he already knows the answer, take it that he is trying to start a conversation and is interested in you romantically.
A man on the verge of asking you out will try to find out all about you, such as your hobbies, what you do for fun and your favourite style of music or movies. If he already knows you and is brave, he may sneak these questions into conversations with you. But don't be surprised if he is bombarding your friends with these inquiries. Either way, he likes you.
