Manners are standards of good conduct in society. Having good manners means behaving politely and appropriately in social situations. Examples of good manners include saying, "Please" and "Thank you." Teaching good manners is partly the responsibility of parents or caregivers, but it is such an important part of socialising children that good manners are often inculcated in schools.

Manners Worksheets

There are many worksheets available on the Internet that can be used by teachers to teach students about the importance of manners. These often include questions, such as "Which table manners matter most?" Students must answer what things should be done at the table and what you should never be done.

Art Activities

Art activities can teach students about manners. An example of such an art activity is the drawing a representation of manner. In this activity, students are encouraged to use their creativity to think about manners and how they might be portrayed in symbolic fashion.

Games are an effective means of teaching young children about manners. An example of a game that can be used to teach children about manners is the role playing game. In this game, students are given scenarios that they might encounter in their daily lives and are asked to act out appropriate behaviour. Examples can involve queuing in line, sharing crayons or holding doors open rather than letting them slam closed in front of the person behind you.

There are many songs available online that help teach children about manners. These can be sung collectively in a classroom environment to convey lessons about sharing, etiquette and appropriate behaviour.
