Send your sister over the hill with a meaningful craft gift for her 50th birthday. The craft can be given as a gift, or if she is having a birthday party, guests can make the crafts at the party for a fun activity. Comical or sentimental crafts can be created for your sister's golden year of life.

Party Hat

Make your sister a party hat to wear for her 50th birthday, or if there will be a birthday party, have all guests create a party hat. For a quick, easy craft, buy plain, solid-coloured birthday hats and add decorative accessories to the hats. Glue sequins, ribbon, glitter, letters, silk flowers, pom-poms or beads to each hat. If you want to make the hats from scratch, fold a piece of coloured construction paper or card stock into a triangle shape and tape, glue or staple it in place. This option can be decorated in a similar fashion.

Photo Display

Display photos of your sister for her 50th birthday party. Collect photo memories from your sister's 50 years of life. Display options include gluing or taping photos to poster boards in a collage, poster-size photos, life-size cutouts, scrapbooks, photo albums or a photo slide show. If your sister is not having a birthday party, you can stick to a scrapbook or photo album keepsake. If there is a birthday party, make T-shirts for guests to wear that display a memorable photo of your sister.

Personalised CD

Create a personalised compact disc for your sister's 50th birthday. Select songs that feature the music from the year your sister was born or her all-time favourites. If your sister is having a birthday party play the CD for guests throughout the party. The music could be used loudly for dancing or as quiet background music. Present the CD to your sister as a gift in a decorative case. Personalise the outside of the case with your sister's name or a short message. Add ribbon or stickers for added flair. Create a list of each song and the artist to put inside the case.

Antique Decorations

Celebrate your sister being an old person with old items. Throw her a 50th birthday party with an "Antique Person" theme. Create craft centrepieces for your sister to keep or for guests to take home. Fill old, metal buckets with real or silk flowers. Place antique wheelbarrows throughout the party location. Fill the wheelbarrows with water and floating candles or floating flower heads. Another option is to fill it with party favour bags or packaged baked goods. Place other antique items like candlesticks, vases or bowls throughout the party area. Decorate the antiques with ribbon, flowers, greenery or candles.
