Homemade Boyfriend Gift Ideas

Updated March 23, 2017

When a girl wants to give her boyfriend a gift, she often turns to making him a homemade gift. Homemade gifts are very personal and heartfelt and let a guy know he is deeply loved and treasured. For most homemade gifts, extensive crafting skills are not required. All it takes is a little thought, effort and time.

Cookie Jar

Purchase a big glass cookie jar for your boyfriend. Decorate it with a bow or coloured glue. Place homemade cookies in the jar and offer to refill the jar every month. With coloured glue, a short saying or quote can be written on the jar -- even if it is as simple as "I love you!"

Make a scrapbook for your boyfriend to let him know how special he is to you. Purchase a scrapbook and find photos of you and him as well as other special memorabilia such as concert ticket stubs. Decorate each page in the scrapbook with these items and stickers. Write a short note on each page or next to each picture. Include funny stories as well as love quotes or song lyrics.

Make a Video

Create a special video for him. Many computers have video editing software on them and they are generally quite easy to use. Upload pictures and video clips to the software. Edit the pictures and videos into a short video. Add music and special effects to the video. The video will be something he will cherish for many years. The video can also be uploaded onto YouTube to share it with family and friends, if desired.

Romantic Dinner

Surprise your boyfriend with a romantic dinner for two at home. Plan a meal that includes his favourite item as the main course. Set a table up in front of the fireplace or outdoors if the weather permits. Cover the table with a linen tablecloth and light some candles. Most boyfriends appreciate a surprise like this, and are appreciative of the time and effort put into it.

Coupon Book

Create a coupon book to give to your boyfriend as a gift. This homemade gift will show him your love and commitment to him. Hand write or type coupons for him for things he would love. When choosing what coupons to create, think of his interests, likes and dislikes. Make coupons for things such as a full-body massage, a free lunch on you and a homemade batch of cookies. Let him redeem each coupon when he desires.
