Travelling and staying in strange hotel rooms or having sleepovers at grandma's could mean that your child needs an inflatable bed. An inflatable child's bed can be particularly helpful for a child who has outgrown a crib but is not yet ready for a full-sized bed. Having a safe, comfortable place to sleep while away from home can help a child sleep better and feel more secure.

Gentle Air

Gentle Air is a brand of inflatable travel bed that has raised edges to prevent a toddler from rolling off as he sleeps. The bed comes with an electric pump that will inflate the bed in a minute or so. It also comes with a multipurpose backpack that makes it easy to transport. The qualities most often mentioned to recommend the Gentle Air are that it is designed by a doctor, and the pump is wire free and rechargeable.

The Tuckaire mattress is larger than other inflatable toddler beds. Its unique features include not only raised edges, but additional raised bumpers for further safety. Sheets used on the Tuckaire tuck in between the bumpers and the mattress, keeping bedding off the floor. The Tuckaire claims to have no lead, no BPA and no phthalates in its mattresses, meaning no harmful chemical fumes for sleeping toddlers.

Aero Inflatable For Children

The Aero Inflatable bed is set apart from other inflatable toddler beds by a fleece cover that hides the plastic. The included air pump inflates the bed in a minute or less. The large valve deflates quickly as well. The bed includes a storage bag for easy transport and a "well" with raised edges to prevent children from rolling off while sleeping.

Ready Bed Toddler

The Spin Master Ready Bed line features licensed inflatable toddler beds. Disney, PBS Kids and Nickelodeon characters adorn the inflatable beds. The price for these beds may be slightly higher than prices for other inflatable toddler beds. They do not have raised edges.

Pea Pod

The Pea Pod line of infant and toddler beds features thin, inflatable mattresses as well as wind screens on all models and UV protection on some models. The tent-like beds are lightweight and have a nylon with bendable wire frame construction. They can be folded nearly flat, for more convenient transport. These beds are particularly good for indoor/outdoor use.
