Decorating the movie-themed room with various pieces of accessories, memorabilia and furniture will set the mood and display your love for cinema. A few ideas mixed with your own visions will turn your ordinary room into a fun-filled cinematic creation.

Movie Posters

One quick way to add flair to your cinema themed room is to hang a few posters of your favourite movies in the room. Place the posters in standard poster frames if you are on a budget or have them framed by a professional. Another idea is to hang vintage movie advertisement signs, such as "movies for 10 cents." The posters can range from classics through the years or simply your favourite movies growing up as a child.

Hire a professional to install floor lighting down the centre of your living room to simulate a cinema aisle. Then install a row of red carpeting to complement the floor board lighting. If the configuration of your living room or bedroom doesn't allow for this, install the floorboard lighting along the room's edges.

Famous Movie Quotes

Paint movie quotes on the wall. One approach is to paint a dark-coloured 12-inch border around the top of the wall. Using script-style stencils to paint your favourite movie quotes inside the border. This complements the posters and adds a movie-themed charm to the room. Use classic quotes from movies like "Casablanca," "Star Wars," "Indiana Jones" or any movie you like.

Furniture and Accessories

Add a few directors chairs in the corners of the room or near the sofa. The chairs will serve a decorative and practical function to the room. Paint the walls to match your furniture. Buy a movie-themed area rugs for the centre of the room. Hang velvet, old-theatre-styled draperies from the windows.
