Three-Person Costume Ideas

Updated February 21, 2017

Costume parties are popular at Halloween, but they could be held any time of year. If you are attending a costume party with a couple of friends and would like to go as a trio, dreaming up three-person costume ideas is only limited by your imagination. You can draw on pop culture or even history.

Funny Costumes

If you have a sense of humour, consider something comical. You'll definitely get attention. Examples of funny three-person costumes are slapstick clowns Curly, Larry and Moe of "The Three Stooges" or the characters played by Chevy Chase, Steve Martin and Martin Short in the hilarious movie "The Three Amigos."

Celebrity Costumes

If you are fans of show business, your options are endless, whether you follow music, movies or television. You could be the Kardashian sisters, "American Idol" judges, The Supremes, The Beastie Boys, Destiny's Child or characters from "The Wizard of Oz."

Superhero and Cartoon Costumes

Dressing like a superhero or a cartoon character is fun for kids and adults alike. Options for your trio include Superman, Batman and Robin; the Powerpuff Girls, and the Three Little Pigs. And who could forget the "Peanuts" gang -- how about Lucy, Linus and Charlie Brown?

World History

A world history theme is a distinctive approach. From ancient Roman history, there are Cleopatra, Julius Caesar and Marc Antony. Biblical characters include the Three Wise Men. From American Colonial times come George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin. Dressing as a gangster and two flappers from the Roaring Twenties will get some laughs. You could even dress as a prehistoric caveman family.
