Have you got a long car trip to take and a sleepy child to take with you? Travel pillows aren't just for adults. They come in many styles and some are made specifically for infants and children. Although some children's travel pillows are simply smaller versions of adult pillows and can be taken anywhere, some fasten to a seat belt or car seats for optimal in-car napping.

Animal Pillows

A popular variety of kids travel pillow is modelled after adult travel pillows, which can be wrapped around the wearer's neck. The kids version of these pillows are, of course, child-sized and also tend to be made to look like a modified stuffed animal. The pillow can be used both as a functioning travel pillow and as a comforting toy.

Upright Pillow

The upright pillow is made to buckle into a car seat. It rests against the child's stomach and leaves a space for the child to place his or her head. The upright pillow can be particularly soothing to small child on a long car trip because of its large size and extra softness. These pillows are often brightly coloured or patterned.

Seat belt Pillow

The seat belt pillow attaches to a regular seat belt, usually with Velcro, so it may easily be put in place or removed. The child can lean his or her head against it where the seat belt crosses over his or her shoulder. These pillows are made for older children and so some designs have a more mature look or darker colours that older boys may prefer.

Car Seat Cradle Pillow

This pillow is made for a car seat and creates a cradle for the child's head so that strain is not put on the child's neck while he or she is sleeping. The pillow attaches to the car seat so it takes some setting up prior to a car trip. It is also meant for infants and small children.
