The camps are typically located in rural areas and the advanced camps teach Western riding, English riding and general caring techniques. The length of the camps varies from a single day to over one week, and most cater to a specific age range and provide housing and food.

Blue Streak Stables

Blue Streak Stables is located in Saguin, Texas. The company offers several all-girl horsemanship camps as well as a combined gender course. The two all-girl camps are focused on 7- to 15-year-old girls, and one is a combined course for mothers and daughters. The camps range from two days to two weeks, and teach the students about feeding, saddling, brushing, braiding manes and riding in Western and English styles. The DD Mini Farm operates the Murfreesboro, Tennessee Horse Camp. The camp teaches horse care, tack and riding for kids between the ages of 6 and 16. The camps are available in one-, two- and five-day formats and does not provide lodging. Daily sessions begin as early as 8 a.m. and end between 4 and 5 p.m. All camps are limited to 12 students; several levels of instruction are taught throughout to accommodate beginning and advanced students.

Cadence Creek Equine Centre

The Cadence Creek Equine Centre is located in Alberta, Canada. The stable offers day, cowboy and residential camps. The day camps are open to girls between the ages of 6 and 12 and focuses on beginner instruction. The camps are one week long, and last all day with a sleepover on Thursday nights. Campers must bring their own lunch, but snacks and drinks are provided. The beginner day camps primarily teach English riding, horse care and tack. Cowboy camps are also one week long and are only open to boys between the ages of 6 and 12. The camp is similar to the girls' version with a focus on Western riding styles. The residential camp is also one week long, but is designed for intermediate and advanced riders between the ages of 10 and 17. The camp is only open to girls and provides lodging. The residential camp ends with a show where the girls demonstrate their riding skills.
