Give a family gift to a couple with a new baby by creating a gift tailored to them. Many new babies receive gifts after they are born, but the parents are left out. Create a family gift to give to them by using a family photo or tailoring a basket to fit their personal preferences. Think outside the box to create a unique present.
Frame a Picture
Many new parents will receive a picture of their new baby in a single frame. Purchase a frame with three individual sections, one for a picture of the mom, dad and baby. These frames can be purchased at various retailers and can fit wallet size photos up to 5 by 7 inch photos. If you have pictures of all three people, place them in the frame before gifting it. If you cannot find a frame at a store, create your own by purchasing a 10 by 13 frame and having a mat cut to fit three individual pictures. You can personalise the mat yourself with the parents' and baby's names.
Create a one-of-a-kind piece of art for the mom, dad and new baby by creating silhouettes of each family member and framing them. To create a silhouette, you'll need a profile picture of the mom, dad and baby. Use a scanner to scan the picture onto a computer, and use photo-editing software to size it down to a 5 by 7 and black out any colour with the exception of the background. Print the picture, cut it out and glue it onto white paper. Frame the pictures and wrap them.
Make a Theme Basket
Arrange a gift basket for the new parents and baby. Purchase a medium-sized basket from a craft store. Chose items that coordinate around one theme such as a "New Family Cuddle Night." The basket can include a large blanket monogrammed with the family's last name, family friendly movie, gift card for ordering food in, baby bottle and pacifier for the baby and matching pyjamas for mom, dad and baby.
Create matching T-shirts with the family picture on them as a gift. Obtain a picture of the family and have T-shirts made with their family picture on it. Pictures can be silk-screened onto T-shirts in a small amount of time. Purchase the shirts from a local craft store, and check your area for silk-screening companies. Depending on the company you choose, the shirts should take less than a week to complete.
