One inexpensive reception centrepiece or other table decoration idea is to use tree branches placed in containers. This centrepiece idea creates a large, tall centrepiece that looks natural and stately. with so many ways to decorate tree centrepieces in unusual and visually striking ways, using centrepiece branch trees will add a lot of personality and dramatic flair to your decorations with a small amount of cost.

Beaded Tree

Purchase several clear beaded curtains from a drapery store. You will also need large tree branches with a lot of smaller twigs. These can be real or artificial. Place the branch into an urn or container. Use spray insulation foam to cement the branch in place. Cut the beaded curtain strands apart to create several strands of beads about 24 inches long. Tie a small knot in the ends of each strand to prevent the beads from falling off, if necessary. Drape the crystals over the branches of the tree. Use hot glue to glue the crystals to the tree. Add moss to the urn to cover the foam.

Lighted Branches

Find some tree branches about three feet long with a lot of smaller branches. Place the branch into an urn or container and secure with spray foam. Glue moss over the foam to hide it. Wrap a strand of battery-operated Christmas lights around the tree to create a visually interesting effect. You can also glue tiny votive candles to the branches, or hang small glass pots from the branches. Add candles to create a soft and romantic glow.

Hanging Ornaments

Secure the tree branches inside a container using the same spray foam method outlined above. It can be helpful to hold the branch in place as the foam dries. You can also allow the branches to fall loosely in the container. Use several small branches for this centrepiece. Hang different ornaments or ribbons from the tree. Use wedding colours. Weave ribbons through the branches and hang the ornaments in random placements around the branches.

Personalised Trees

Place a few branches into a container. Hang photos of yourself and your future spouse from the branches. Add other personalised charms that are significant for you as a couple. You could hang a pair of your baby shoes from one tree, charms signifying interests and anything else you can think of. Create monogrammed paper ornaments of you and your future spouse's initials to intermix with the other ornaments.
