Cover the door in black construction paper or other applicable material. Have each child decorate a ghost, which can include the child's name if desired. Create a graveyard scene with grey construction paper to make tombstones, and yellow construction paper to create a large, yellow moon. Add additional embellishments if desired, such as a black cat cut out from construction paper, or find a cat cutout Halloween decoration at a Halloween store, and ghost "word balloons" that say "Boo" and "Happy Halloween."
Since the windows will most likely be closed due to cooler weather when you are decorating, use them as an area to create a large cobweb complete with scary spiders. Look for synthetic spider web decorations online or at Halloween stores. Create spiders as a classroom activity with styrofoam balls, black paint, and black pipe cleaners which you can bend to create spider legs. Paint large and small styrofoam balls black and use toothpicks to attach them to each other. Use two red paper triangles to create a scary spider face. Create as many spiders as desired to display around the webs.
Purchase sets of Halloween decoration window decals and arrange them as desired. Create witch and ghost scenes or pumpkin patches interspersed with black cats and bats and spiders. There are also many scene decals available, such as ghosts poking out from behind trees, cats on rooftops, or witches flying through the night sky. Make Halloween decals in the classroom using decal templates from craft websites, or draw your own. Use a glue/paint mixture to create the decals.
Cover the door in green construction paper and use black construction paper with gold accents to create a witch's hat. The hat can also be made of a black plastic trash bag. Draw large yellow eyes, a large nose, and red mouth. Add a wart if desired. Use orange crepe paper to create 3-D hair around the top and sides of the door.
