Men will often get together to form teams that compete against each other in a variety of sports. When forming their own league or teams, it's often up to the team members to come up with the name for their team. When choosing a name, you want to use a little creativity that will best represent the players.

Using movie titles as inspiration for naming your team is creative and can give your team a name that will suit the people playing. Knowing your team members can help you decide what would be the most appropriate name such as "X-Men", "The Dirty Dozen", "Bad Boys" or "The Incredibles." Any of these film titles would also make for a fun name for a team. If the team uniform happens to be black, you could use the team name of "Men in Black."

Element of Danger

If you want your team to sound like they're out to win, choose a team name that's descriptive of the intention. For example, "The Warriors" creates an image of people who are experienced in battle. A name like "The Cannibals" instantly can have an intimidating ring to it, or "The Barbarians" promotes the idea of a group of people who are fierce and brutal. Consider these ideas if you want a dangerous name for your team.

Using rock bands for inspiration is another idea since rock n' rollers have always been considered to be "bad boys." For example, "The Animals" were a band in the 1970s that would also make an appropriate name for a team. "Bad Company" is a rock band that could also serve as a good team name depending on the players, and if you want your team to sound completely intimidating, consider "The Killers" as your team name.

Old West

It's believed that many rugged men existed in the Old West and were engaged in gun fights, robberies and other dangerous activities, so looking to that time period for team names is another idea. Consider naming the team "The Outlaws," which has a menacing sound to it. Another idea would be "The Bandits," which conjures up the image of a gang that's up for committing crimes, and "The Rebels" is a good name for anyone who fights against resistance.
