You can import audio books purchased from the Audible online bookstore to your iPhone using the iTunes software. Once you have added the Audible audio books to your iTunes collection, transferring them to your iPhone is a simple process. The iPhone includes built-in support for Audible and the audio book format. You can enable sync support for audio books in your iTunes library in just a few steps.

Skill level:
Moderately Easy

  1. 1

Connect the iPhone to your computer using the appropriate USB cable.

  2. 2

Launch iTunes, if the software doesn't open automatically when you connect your iPhone.

  3. 3

Click "File" and select "Add to Library."

  4. 4

Select the Audible audio book files from your computer that you want to import to your iPhone and then click "OK." The Audible audio books will be stored in the "Books" section of your iTunes library.

  5. 5

Select your iPhone from the left sidebar and then select the "Books" tab.

  6. 6

Click to select the "Sync Audiobooks" check box.

  7. 7

Click the radio button beside "All Audiobooks" if you want to sync your entire Audible collection or click the radio button beside "Selected Audiobooks" to manually select the Audible books you want to import to your iPhone.

  8. 8

Click "Apply" to save your settings and transfer the Audible audio books to your iPhone. If you chose "Selected Audiobooks" as your sync option, just drag and drop audio books from the "Books" section in iTunes to the iPhone icon in the sidebar to import your selections.

  9. 9

Click the "Eject" button beside the iPhone listing in the left sidebar to safely disconnect your phone.
