How to Make Glitter Stick to a Poinsettia Leaf

Updated February 21, 2017

If you're making festive Christmas crafts, add a touch of sparkle to your home with glittered poinsettia leaves. You can easily cover leaves with glitter to give an enchanting floral touch to your fireplace mantel or dinner table centrepiece.

Lay a piece of wax or parchment paper on a flat work surface in a well-ventilated area.

Pour gold or silver glitter into a bowl. Choose clear glitter if you want to add sparkle, but no colour, to the poinsettia leaves.

Grasp the leaf by its stem. Spray the leaf with adhesive, coating each side evenly.

Hold the leaf over the bowl of glitter. Spoon the glitter over each side of the leaf. Shake the leaf gently to distribute the glitter over the entire surface.

Allow the leaf to dry thoroughly.
