In the player-versus-player-versus-environment of the abyss in "Aion," abyss points are assigned per kill and determine your rank in the player-versus-player world. Abyss points are in-game currency with which you can purchase gear and weapon upgrades along with special crafting recipes and consumable items. Your points also determine where you stand as a PVP player in "Aion." As you receive abyss points with your character, your ranking increases. Start out as soldier, rank 9, and kill your way through the ranks up to officer ranks and the highly specialised Army ranks. Points are lost when you are defeated in PVP combat.
- Skill level:
Go rifting with a group of other players. Rifting means jumping through a portal into enemy territory and attacking the enemy players. Do this solo at lower levels into low-level areas. As your level increases and enemies increase, you need a larger group of players to help you rift.
Farm areas like Roah fortress. Kill mobs over and over when they re-spawn in this area to gain abyss points. Travel into the mountains near Roah fortress to find larger mobs.
Do quests in Asteria or Roah. The quests in these areas are repeatable. Once you pick up the quests, travel the area and complete each one before turning them in to receive your abyss points. After you finish all of the quests, turn them in and immediately claim them again.
Kill non-player characters in the abyss. Each NPC you defeat rewards you with abyss points.
Upgrade your weapon and gear often to increase your strength and defeat enemies faster.
