ACID Music Studio is an application created by SONY to allow you to create and edit music from your home computer. This professional quality application allows you not only to mix and burn music, but you can actually edit the tracks to change the way they sound. Try adjusting the tempo of a track for example. Simply by moving a slider back and fourth you can slow an audio track down, or speed it back up again.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Launch ACID Music Studio on your computer. Click "File" and click "Open." Browse to the location of the audio track you wish to slow down and double-click it.

  2. 2

Click your mouse on the Project Tempo slider that appears at the bottom of your track list on the left side of the window. Drag the slider to the left to slow down the tempo of your audio track.

  3. 3

Press the "Play" button in the middle of the ACID window to play your adjusted track. Adjust the Project Tempo slider while the audio is playing to hear your changes as you make them.

Tips and warnings

  • Temporarily slowing down or speeding up audio can help make transitions between songs smoother and less noticeable.
