How to create a reverse DNS zone with webmin

An rDNS, or reverse Domain Name Service, zone is a configuration file created on a Web server that tells computers what domain name resides at a particular IP address. If you use the Webmin configuration panel on your Web server, you can use it to set up your rDNS zone file.

    Log in to the Webmin administration panel on your Web server.

    Click "Servers" and "Create a new master zone."

  3. 3

    Click "Reverse," then type in the domain name and the IP address of the domain name.

  4. 4

    Select "Automatic" for the Records file, type in the domain name for the master DNS server and type in the email address for the administrator for the zone.

  5. 5

    Click "Create" to create the reverse DNS zone.
