MAME, which stands for Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator, is an arcade game emulator. The version made for Xbox is MAMEoX. With this emulator, you can play classic games that are not regularly sold for Xbox. Running MAMEoX on your Xbox requires a modded Xbox. This is an Xbox that can run codes that Xbox does not authorise, which make the dashboard customisable. .

    Obtaining MAMEoX

    Install an IRC, or Internet Relay Chat, client. Use mIRC if you are running Windows.

    Choose or create a username on mIRC and connect to the channel called "#xbins." Type "/msg xbins !list" in the channel window to send a request to access the FTP server. Wait until you receive a message with the FTP address, which will contain a username and password.

    Download an FTP program or open it if you already have one. FTP is a file transfer program, such as Filezilla and SmartFTP. Connect to the FTP server called "Xbins." Change to the directory: Xbox\apps\emulators\arcade\MAMEoX.

    Download the most recent Zip archive for MAMEoX. Close the FTP connection.Unzip the MAMEoX archive and create a folder to save it.

    Transferring to Xbox

    Connect to the Xbox with the FTP and transfer the MAMEoX folder over to the Xbox.

    Close the FTP program and restart the Xbox. Launch MAMEoX on the Xbox.

    Wait for the game start up screen to make sure it is installed and working correctly.
