How to Make a Jabba the Hutt Costume

Jabba the Hut is a character from the Star Wars movies. In the movies he plays one of the most famous Hutt crime lords in the galaxy and operates a criminal ring from his desert palace. His crimes include spice-smuggling, gun-running, slavery and piracy. Jabba the Hutt is not a very attractive character; he is fat, with large, dark brown rolls, big eyes and a large tongue that droops out of his mouth.

Lay your hat on a flat surface and start filling garbage bags with newspaper.

Tape the filled garbage bags to your hat and orient them so that they are in the rough shape of Jabba the Hut's head. Leave a small space between the bags for you to be able to look through when you wear the hat.

Tape tan construction paper to cover all of Jabba the Hut's head.

Cut out two eye shapes, two nostril shapes and a large mouth out of the tan construction paper. Cut out a large tongue out of the red construction paper. Use the markers to colour these body parts the appropriate colour and then tape them to the head.

Draw the stretch marks and rolls on the head with a black marker. Use your picture of Jabba the Hut as a guide.

Draw rolls on your tan shirt and tan trousers to mimic the rolls on Jabba the Hut's body.

Put on the oversized tan shirt and trousers. These clothing items should be at least five sizes too big for you.

Stuff your trousers and shirt with newspaper until you look like a large blob, similar to Jabba the Hut.

Put on the Jabba the Hut head and look at yourself in a mirror. Make any adjustments you need -- including adding, removing or moving newspaper -- until the head and body part are indistinguishable and you are the size and shape of Jabba the Hut.
