Plex Media Server is a free multimedia server program for the Windows, Mac, iPhone and Android operating systems, as well as for LG Netcast-enabled high-definition TVs. Once you install it on your main computer and auxiliary devices, you can use it to access media stored on your main computer from your other devices. In addition, Plex Media Server includes a function called Media Manager for uploading and organising media tracks on your main computer. You can access Media Manager from your main computer, as well as from a browser window on your remote device.

Instructions

  1. 1

Open the system tray at the lower right-hand corner of the screen of your main computer. Alternatively, in the browser window of any Windows computer on your network, type the IP number of your main computer followed by a colon and "32400," and then a slash followed by "manage." For example: 000.11.000.111:32400/manage.

  2. 2

Right-click the Plex icon, which is an orange > sign against a black background, in your system tray if you are using your main computer. Skip to Step 3 if you are using a remote computer.
