Roast beef has a rich, hearty flavour and pairs well with vegetables and rice. The USDA recommends that cooked beef reach an internal temperature of 145F before consumption. One way home cooks boost the internal temperature of this thick cut of meat is by using aluminium foil. Covering the roast with aluminium foil will keep the surface of the meat from burning or drying out. Save the herbal crust on your food by using a protective foil cover.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Unroll 2 to 3 feet of aluminium foil from the roll.

  2. 2

Lay the sheet on the counter wrong side up. Fold the top of the foil to the bottom of the sheet. This will fold the foil in half.

  3. 3

Arrange the wrap over the roast, positioning the centre fold over the roast. Remove the tent during the last 15 to 30 minutes of cooking so the meat will get an appealing brown colour.
