Flag Counter allows you to track visitors to your Facebook page from all over the world. When a visitor from a particular country clicks on your page, the number count increases next to the corresponding country's flag. Track your international popularity with a simple counter that takes moments to create and add to your Facebook page.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Visit the Flag Counter website at

  2. 2

Choose between three display modes on the main page under "Choose Your Own Options and Appearance": Top Countries, Flag Map and U.S. States. Select a value corresponding to the maximum number of displayed flags -- between one and 20 -- from the drop-down menu. Choose a number of columns -- between one and 8 -- for your flags. Choose a title for your counter from the drop-down menu or select "Custom" to create your own.

  3. 3

Select a background colour for your flag counter by clicking on the arrow next to the dialogue box. Click on any colour to select it. Choose a text colour and border colour by clicking on the arrows next to the corresponding dialogue boxes. Decide whether you want to show country codes or a pageview count by checking the corresponding boxes.

  4. 4

Select "Get Your Flag Counter" to create the code for your flag counter. Press "Skip" when prompted to register your flag counter. Copy the code under "Code for Websites" by highlighting the code and pressing "Ctrl" and "C" at the same time.

  5. 5

Log in to Facebook, type "Static HTML: Iframe tabs" into the search bar and press "Enter."

  6. 6

Choose the "Static HTML: Iframe Tabs" application from the drop-down menu. Click on "Add to My Page" and choose your page from the list that appears. Navigate to your Facebook page. Choose the star logo next to the new application you added on the left panel. The HTML editor opens up as a dialogue box in the centre of your window.

  7. 7

Click anywhere in the dialogue box. Press "Ctrl" and "V" at the same time to paste the code for your flag counter in the box. Click "Save and View Tab" in the top right corner of the HTML editor. Choose "View Your Tab as a Fan." Your flag counter now appears on your Facebook page.
