As a projector lamp gets older, the bulb draws more power and heats up to a higher temperature. A BenQ projector keeps track of the number of hours on the lamp. When the lamp reaches the end of its lifespan, the lamp indicator LED on the projector lights up and the projector will display a message indicating you need to replace the lamp. After you install the new lamp, you need to reset the lamp hours to make the message and indicator light go away.
