Updated March 27, 2017

The Sony Handycam DCR DVD610 is a user-friendly hand-held camcorder that allows you to record video directly to a recordable DVD disc. With a crystal clear touch LCD screen and features that include Super SteadyShot stabilisation, night vision with infrared, and a built-in zoom microphone, the Sony Handycam DCR DVD610 is perfect for capturing everyday video and pictures. Using recordable DVD discs, a Memory Stick PRO Duo, audio/video cables or a USB cable, you can transfer your videos to your laptop, PC, VCR or DVD/HDD recorder.

Insert a blank recordable disc into your Sony Handycam. Supported disc formats include DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, and DVD+RW.

Press the "Home" icon on the LCD screen. Press the "Others" icon. Select "Movie Dub" from the menu list.

Choose which video files you would like to record on the DVD. To burn specific files, choose "Dub By Select." To choose a file from a specific date, choose "Dub by date." To burn all video files, choose "Dub All."

Press the "OK" icon when you are finished selecting the video files to be burnt. When the burn process finishes, the LCD screen will display "Completed." Press "OK" and remove your DVD.

Plug your Sony Handycam into a wall outlet using the AC adaptor. With the camera shut off, connect the supplied A/V connecting cables to the A/V R slot on your Handycam.

Connect the A/V cables to the input jacks of your VCR or DVD/HDD recorder. The yellow plug should connect to the "Video" jack, and the red and white plugs should connect to the right (red) and left (white) "Audio" jacks.

Turn on your Sony Handycam. Turn on your television and VCR or DVD/HDD recorder. Locate your video source channel according to your television's instruction manual.

Insert a blank VHS tape or recordable DVD into your recordable device. Press "Play" on your Sony Handycam and "Record" on your VCR or DVD/HDD recorder at the same time. When you want to stop recording, press "Stop" on your VCR or DVD/HDD recorder, and then "Stop" on your Handycam.

Remove the "Memory Stick PRO Duo" from the Sony Handycam and insert it into the memory card slot in your PC or laptop. Once your laptop or PC recognises the memory card, a browser window will open. Open the video folder and drag your video files to a folder on your PC or laptop.

Plug your Sony Handycam into a wall outlet using the AC adaptor provided. Connect the Sony Handycam to your PC or laptop using the supplied USB chord if your PC or laptop does not support the "Memory Stick PRO Duo."

Choose the computer icon after the "USB Connect" selection screen appears. Once your PC or laptop recognises the camera, a browser window will open. Open the video folder and drag your video files to a folder on your PC or laptop.
