Virgin daiquiri drinks are fruity and delicious additions to a warm-weather gathering. Whether your nonalcoholic cocktails are the only drinks on the menu or they're separate offerings that allow nondrinking guests to feel like they're part of the festivities even though they're not imbibing, you can easily convert any daiquiri recipe into a recipe for virgin daiquiris by simply substituting other ingredients for the rum.

Fruit Juice

Replace the rum in your daiquiri recipe with an equal amount of a complementary fruit juice to make virgin daiquiri drinks. Pomegranate juice will add a hint of tartness to virgin strawberry daiquiris, for example, while orange juice will complement the citrus flavours of a lime-flavoured cocktail. If you want to add a hint of lime or lemon to your daiquiris, substitute limeade or lemonade for the alcohol; add straight lime or lemon juice only if you want extremely tart cocktails.

Frozen Fruit

If you're making frozen virgin daiquiri drinks, drop an approximately equal amount of frozen fruit into the blender in place of the alcohol. For example, if your recipe calls for 340gr. of rum, blend in a 284gr. box of frozen strawberries instead. Frozen blueberries will add colour and a fruity accent to lime daiquiris.

Substitute lemon-lime flavoured soda for rum to add a light citrus flavour to virgin daiquiri drinks. Strawberry soda may complement a strawberry daiquiri recipe, but it may also add a cloying sweetness to the cocktails. Reserve boldly flavoured and coloured sodas, such as orange, strawberry and grape, for virgin daiquiri drinks destined for the children's table.

Milk or Ice Cream

Substitute milk, double cream, sherbet or ice cream for the alcohol in your frozen daiquiri recipe to make a creamy virgin cocktail that resembles a smoothie. Vanilla ice cream will add body and a relatively neutral flavour to the daiquiri drinks, while other flavours of ice cream or sherbet may add complementary or contrasting flavours. Pineapple sherbet, for example, will add a sweet and tart note to a noncitrus frozen daiquiri, while strawberry ice cream will tone down the tart flavour of lime daiquiris. Top each creamy daiquiri drink with a dollop of whipped cream and serve with a long straw.

If you're serving virgin daiquiris and cocktails containing alcohol at the same gathering, pour the nonalcoholic drinks into glasses that are a different colour or shape so you don't accidentally serve alcohol to anyone who isn't drinking.
