Without amplifiers, powerful speakers would drain the car's battery. ( Images)

Infinity is a mobile electronics parts supplier for both OEM and aftermarket products. In many Chrysler (Dodge) vehicles, Infinity amplifiers are used. The amplifier supplies power to the car's speakers. This amplifier can also be used to power aftermarket speakers. Installers must keep in mind that the Infinity amp may not be powerful enough for the speakers that will be attached to it. Always check the power rating for the amp and speaker to make sure they are compatible.

  1. 1

    Disconnect the Dodge's battery.

  2. 2

Locate the Infinity amplifier. The amplifier should be housed under the passenger seat or in the boot of the vehicle, depending on the model of Dodge.

  3. 3

Disconnect the speaker wires, not the power wires. The power wires will be labelled as "+12 Volt" and "Ground."

  4. 4

Replace the stock speakers in the vehicle with aftermarket speakers.

  5. 5

Connect the aftermarket speakers to the amplifier using speaker wire. Connect speaker wire to the positive and negative terminals on the speaker and run it to the amp. Connect the positive wire with the positive speaker terminal on the amp and connect the negative wire with the negative speaker terminal. Repeat this process for each channel/speaker.

  6. 6

Reconnect the car's battery. Turn on the car and test the stereo.
